A moving, humorous, brutally honest and inspiring film about confronting illness based on Bronja Žakelj's autobiographical novel of the same name.

The central character, Bronja, is followed through various stages of her life. After losing her mother to cancer, she must face this insidious disease alone at a young age. Despite numerous and nearly insurmountable life challenges, Bronja confronts them in a way that blends tears with laughter and unwavering optimism.

Making Whites Wash at Ninety was a unique experience. A story based on real-life events requires a special approach. Remaining faithful to the novel's original storyline while seeing it through cinematic lens required a lot of careful consideration. In addition, the story of loss and family also left a profound impression on me personally. It makes you realise that the time left to us is precious and the presence of people dear to us is by no means a given
