24 January is a National Day of Mourning for the miners who lost their lives in the Velenje coal mine accident

The Government of the Republic of Slovenia has declared Friday, 24 January, a National Day of Mourning for the miners who lost their lives in the Velenje coal mine accident. 

On this day, all events at Cankarjev dom will begin with a minute's silence and flags will be lowered to half-mast as a mark of respect and remembrance for the tragically deceased miners. 

We extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased.
