Young German conductor Elias Grandy, newly appointed Chief Conductor of the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra and a sought-after guest at international festivals, will lead the orchestra in a program rich in contrasts. Beethoven’s early Romantic Pastoral Symphony will paint scenes from nature and rural life, followed by Spanish melancholy and fiery Andalusian rhythms. The soloist in Rodrigo’s iconic Concierto de Aranjuez will be the guitar virtuoso Mak Grgić, a two-time Grammy nominee and acclaimed interpreter of both classical and contemporary repertoire.
