Alan Lightman: Einstein’s Dreams
Yugoslav Drama Theatre
Directed by: Slobodan Unkovski; Stage adaptation: Rusomir Bogdanovski
The novel by American physicist and writer Alan Lightman is a collage of poetic vignettes, featuring exquisite verbal texture and rich imaginary world. The novel fictionalises Einstein as a young scientist troubled by dreams as he works on his theory of relativity. A sheer theatrical delight, the performance gives an impression of being visualised poetry and a 120-minute fantastical journey in time.
