Qasida: Rosario “La Tremendita” and Mohammad Motamedi

An exhilirating musical encounter between Spain and Iran

In cooperation with the Embassy of Spain

Rosario Guerrero ‘La Tremendita’, Mohammad Motamedi, vocals;  Salvador Gutiérrez, guitar; Arash Kamvar, kemanche; Pablo Martín Jones, Habib Meftah Boushehri, percussion; José Manuel Ramos ‘Oruco’,  Abel Harana,  clapping

The Qasida project is an amazing duo of young cantaora Rosario “La Tremendita” from Seville and Iranian traditional vocalist Mohammad Motamedi. When Spanish folk poetry and Persian art blend to make a unique musical amalgam, it seems as if the medieval Islamic Iberia, Al-Andalus, has briefly come to life.

Qasida is a creation of the Dutch Flamenco Biënnale.
