National song and dance ensemble »Voronezh Girls«
Organiser Festival of Slavic Cultures
The “VORONEZH GIRLS” choir was formed in 1966 as part of Voronezh's National Philharmonic. It was formed by the famous Russian composer M. A. Galinker, who also directed the Philharmonic Orchestra at the time. The ensemble became a laureate of numerous national as well as international festivals and singing competitions, which led to its national recognition in Russia and all the countries they had performed in. Its repertoire is based on female lyrical song, which is characterized by profound emotion, diversity and the enchanting beauty of mellifluous female voices. A wide vocal range and superior stage performance allow the choir to perform both national folk songs as well as the most complex compositions of modern composers. The ensembles performance is complemented by a dance group and a band of consummate musicians – Russian diatonic accordion and traditional balalaika virtuosos.
