Programme: lieder and duets by international and Slovenian composers
Since winning the First Prize in 1985 at the Nuevas Voces Liricas competition and moving to Europe, Bernarda Fink has garnered recognition as one of the most accomplished and brilliant mezzo-sopranos of our time. With her sensibility, refinement and subtlety, Fink has been mesmerising audiences at the most prestigious music venues ranging from the US, Japan and Australia. Her musical prowess has commanded attention of the world’s leading conductors; Gergiev, Harnoncourt, Muti and numerous others. An amazingly versatile performer, Fink’s repertoire covers a wide gamut of musical styles, from concert pieces and lieder to operatic roles, being equally at home in early music and contemporary works. Bernarda Fink has made over fifty recordings with a repertoire ranging from Monteverdi to Brahms and Bruckner, many of which have been awarded special distinctions.
A late starter, Bernarda’s brother Marcos Fink embarked on his singing career in his late thirties. Distinguishing himself with roles in Mozart’s operas, Marko has solidified his professional reputation. Today, the acclaimed bass baritone is a highly sought-after guest of concert venues and opera houses.
The piano accompaniment will be provided by Anthony Spiri, one of the most versatile and highly-regarded among today's lied accompanists and chamber music pianists, and Bernarda Fink’s regular lied partner. Spiri distinguishes himself for masterfully engaging in and complementing the chamber musical dialogue.
