Petar Dabac: Letters to Maja&Buffet MK&You Have Whitewashed in Vain

In so many ways one of the key figures of Croatian photography, the milestones in Petar Dabac’s (b. 1942) career are a series of B&W portraits typical of the seventies, the photograms of the eighties, the “Sensing Nature“ series at the turn of the century, as well as a series of portraits from the nineties.

He has been committed to photography since 1960 as collaborator of the illustrious Toše Dabac, and from 1966 onward as an independent artist. Since 1970 a member of ULPUH, Dabac has held over forty one-man exhibitions in Croatia and abroad. He also works with the Forum Stadpark Camera circle from Graz in Austria, and has since 1991 been professor of photography at the Design Department of the Ljubljana Academy of Fine Arts. Under the common title Letters to Maja, the exhibition incorporates three series “Džabe si krečio”, “Buffet MK” and “Dvojno vpojno”.

Organised in association with the Lang Gallery in Samobor, Croatia, the exhibition has been curated by Želimir Koščević.
